Hummus & Cucumber
Smooth homemade hummus and crisp cucumber on a sesame bagel.

Start with 1 Sesame bagel (about 125 g each).
From bottom to top
- BaseSesame — bottom half
- 01Homemade hummusabout 85 g
- 55 g Canned chickpeas, rinsed and drained
- 10 g Tahini
- 5 ml (1 tsp) Lemon juice
- 2.5 ml (1/2 tsp) Olive oil
- 0.5 g Fresh garlic, finely grated
- a small pinch (0.2 g) Fine salt
- 02Cucumber, thinly sliced35 g
- TopSesame — top half
Before you start
- Blend the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic and salt with 10 ml water until smooth. Scrape down the bowl as needed. This makes one sandwich portion.
- Split one sesame bagel. Wash and thinly slice the cucumber; pat dry.
Make it
- Spread all the hummus over the bottom bagel half, leaving the top half unspread.
- Overlap the cucumber slices in one even layer on the hummus.
- Close with the top half and serve.
At the counter
This hummus contains sesame from tahini, and the bagel also has sesame seeds. No paprika or garnish is needed.
Keep hummus refrigerated at 4°C / 40°F or below; assemble just before eating.
