Mushroom & Scallion Cream Cheese
Browned mushrooms over scallion cream cheese, finished with an onion bagel.

Start with 1 Onion bagel (about 125 g each).
From bottom to top
- BaseOnion — bottom half
- 01Scallion cream cheese40 g
- 35 g Plain cream cheese
- 5 g Scallion, finely sliced
- 02Cremini mushrooms, sliced100 g raw (about 60 g cooked)
- TopOnion — top half
For preparation
- 5 ml (1 tsp) Olive oil, for the pan
Before you start
- Wipe the mushrooms clean and slice 5 mm thick. Split one onion bagel.
- Mix the cream cheese and scallion. Keep the spread refrigerated while the mushrooms cook.
Make it
- Warm the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the mushrooms in a single layer.
- Cook for 6–8 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and their released moisture has evaporated. Let cool for 2 minutes so they do not melt the spread.
- Spread the scallion cream cheese onto the bottom half only. Spoon the mushrooms on top.
- Close with the onion-bagel top and serve.
At the counter
Assemble just before eating. Keep perishable ingredients refrigerated at 4°C / 40°F or below and follow package storage instructions.
